Situated right on the Strait of Juan de Fuca, The Lyre Conservation Area is a "hidden secret" to the locals in the area who want to escape the more populated well-known and beloved tourist spots in Olympic NP. This area is a wonderful place to see all kinds of wildlife: migratory and resident birds, sealife including dolphins (if you're particularly lucky), steelhead, whales, seals, sea lions, and almost a guaranteed sighting of eagles as they dive and fish for their dinner! 🦅
Bring your binoculars and, if you're the adventurous type, your surfboard. Or just keep an eye out for the locals: it's a popular spot when the surf is good!Â
