Ravenna Creekside Spot Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Chombo: Unfortunately, the initial container construction wasn't as durable as it needed to be. After a few unsuccessful attempts at repairing the container, I've decided to archive.

The cache was a bison attached by fishing line to a bronze-painted magnet placed atop an accordingly colored sewer cover. The bison was attached through a metallic nut glued to the bottom of the magnet and went down a few inches of fishing line through a hole on the sewer cover.

I am sad that this cache didn't last as long as I had hoped but I'm looking forward to seeing what the next hider chooses to do with this spot.

Geocache Description:

I've had this cache idea for a while now, and after deciding to archive my previous hide here, I decided on re-using this location.

Aside from the occasional encampment and bits of litter, Ravenna Park is one of my favorites in Seattle. It has a main trail connecting to Cowen Park along with some side trails, a playground, a little league field, Ravenna Creek, a super hidden *somewhat sketchy* basketball court, and four bridges that offer scenic views of the ravine.

As for the hide, I have found hides similar to this one but nothing exactly like it, so hopefully you all find it original. The terrain is much less demanding than that of my previous hide here, but finding the container may take a bit more ingenuity. Please replace the container exactly as you found it so it remains properly camouflaged; I recommend taking a picture of how you found the container before signing the log. You are welcome to post pictures with your log, but if the picture is a spoiler it will be deleted.

The hint is a bit obscure, but the search should be made pretty easy if you understand the reference.

I believe that this is the first cache placed in Seattle after the Mariners ended their 21 year postseason drought by clinching an American League wild card spot on September 30, 2022. There are four active caches in Seattle that were placed before the Mariners' most recent postseason appearance in 2001; two traditionals, one multi, and one virtual.

Congrats to 2nd1of3 on ftf!

Enjoy the search!
