We were going to place a magnetic cache on the 'Welcome to Newcastle' sign nearby, but when we turned up with the magnetic cache we realised that it was stainless steel! Then spotting this tree we decided to put a cache in it, and the treegeek series was born...
The treegeek caches will all be tree-climbing caches, ranging from simple free climbs to complex technical climbs, check the description and ratings before attempting, please and don't take risks you aren't comfortable with. And, as tree-climbs, you are required to sign the log, not just 'spot' the container from the ground, we are required to delete online found-it logs of those who don't sign the physical logsheet.
This cache is approximately 6m up a pine tree close to the road, stealth will be needed as there is a busy road nearby. If you have lots of upper body strength, you might be able to jump up and grab the lowest branch and pull yourself up, If not you may want to bring a small ladder to get yourself to the lowest branch, from which you can freeclimb to the cache.
