Geocache Description:


Welcome to my first Birkenshaw hide,

1. Birkenshaw - Moor Side

 

Site of former railway bridge, Tong Moor Side

The nearby station closed in 1953 and the line from Ardsley to Laisterdyke closed altogether in 1968. Looking at the change of gradient and comparing with old maps, and given the lack of remaining parapets, it would appear the bridge was removed after the cutting was infilled, and the road regraded.
