Important Notice:
I will be temporarily disabling this geocache due to Forest closures in the area, beginning May 1 2025, to support critical forest restoration efforts. The 34,600-acre closure will last at least one year.
The closure will affect several major access points and recreation areas, including Horse Butte Trailhead, Coyote Butte OHV area, Bessie Butte Trailhead, Boyd Cave, and popular rock pits used for recreational shooting within the project area.
The closure will restrict all access, including day use and overnight camping, while crews operate heavy machinery, conduct prescribed burns, and clean up hazardous materials. The work, aims to reduce wildfire risk and restore damaged habitats in the wildland-urban interface near Bend.

1. Fear of Fisher Challenge caches
As of 2022 the Fishers have placed 171 caches of which 83 are Challenge or Mystery puzzle caches. I certainly have a propensity for some anxiety and phobic reactions when I see a new Fisher cache published. "Will I qualify for it?" "Will I be able to get there before geo51?" Think about it - How many times have you looked at a "Fisher Challenge caches" and declared it nearly impossible to acheive in your lifetime? Their hikes are almost on par with Markellie's infamous "Who needs a trail" hikes. Their puzzles can be as challenging as Redrum's clever and sometimes puzzling containers. Besides who wants to find 100 mega scary critter caches (eww yuck) or get a zillion 5D/5T caches?? (Ok I exagerate).
You will have to solve this puzzle cache inorder to find the container. You have two options in how you approach this cache. If you are clever, you can narrow your odds down by locating hints and clues to the solution. But for you locals you won't even need a map for this one, just answer this one question. "What animal is associated with this location?"
