Open me up, step inside and be transported away! I just love this old piece of London's history here in beautiful Los Osos. London had phone boxes for more than 100 years. The earliest, known as the K1, was introduced in 1921.These were soon superseded by the first true 'red phone box' (the k2), many of which can still be found around London today...and also Los Osos! :)
The K2 was designed by Giles Gilbert Scott. About 11,000 of these booths can still be found today on the streets of London (and Los Osos), Many of which have found new lease of life as bookswaps, coffee booths, flower stalls, cash machines and hiding spots for geocaches. Haha.
Enjoy this little piece of history. Please be gentle when searching, if muggles are around come look another time. BYOP.
