猿山又稱猴山、猴子山，獅頭山區眾步道之中，猿山步道是較具挑戰性的。
由藤坪接至猿山步道，路徑從人工階梯轉為原始山徑，入口處立牌提醒遊客此去陡峭、慎入，其後就是濃密的孟宗竹、雜木林。一路上行，經多次天災侵襲，部分路段封閉，雖無特別危險地形，仍要小心。來到猿山頂，有一顆三等三角點，展望尚可，能眺望獅頭山、百段崎古道。越過山頭，續往下行，不久將接上茶亭步道。
每年約五月桐花盛開時，雪白油桐鋪滿步道，更添風采。

Cross the mountain and continue down, and you will soon be connected to the Chating Trail.
Every year in May, when the tung flowers are in full bloom, the snow-white tung tung paved the trails, adding more elegance.
