[EST] Kaasaegse Luunja jõesadama planeerimine sai alguse 1996. aastal olles osa kõrval asuva puhkeala detailplaneeringust, mis kehtestati 2010. Hetkel nähtava jõesadama ehitusega seotud praktiliste töödega alustati 2014. aastal, mil süvendati Emajõge ja sadamat ühendavad kanalit. Sadama 204 753 eurot maksma läinud betoonkai avati 29.07.2021, millega loeti Luunja jõesadama ehitustööd mõneks ajaks lõppenuks.
Sadam mahutab umbes 40 väiksemat alust ning ühe kuni 40 meetri pikkuse aluse. Tulevikus mõeldakse ka jõesadama laiendamise peale, kuna inimeste huvi Emajõel reisida ja oma alust kais hoiustada on kasvutrendis. Sadama kohta on öeldud: "Luunja sadam on nagu Tallinna linn, mis kunagi päriselt valmis ei saa."
Seadama haldaja on aardest teadlik. Aardes ei ole pliiatsit.

[ENG] Planning of a modern river port in Luunja began in 1996, being a part of the detail plan of the nearby rest area. The detail plan was approved in 2010. Works on the port we see today started in 2014, when the channel between the port and the river Emajõgi was deepened. The concrete dock was opened on 29.08.2021 and cost 204 753 euros. That concludes the building of the port for a while. The port can accommodate about 40 smaller vessels and a bigger vessel up to 40 meters in length. There are plans to expand the port in the future because of the growing demand. It has been said: “Luunja port is like Tallinn- its construction is never really finished.”
