La piazza "Monsignor Angelo Brugnoli" (prima del 1970 era chiamata piazza del Mercato) naque nel 1877 a seguito del completo abbattimento di un vecchio borgo di circa 15 case (il cosiddetto borgo Alocco).
In questa piazza erano presenti delle terme romane, infatti sono stati rinvenuti vari reperti già dal 1642.
Angelo Brugnoli (1872 - 1970) è stato per 55 anni canonico (arciprete preposto) della collegiata di Asolo.
