Nekega poznega večera sem se odpeljal v Novo mesto, ko se je nad mano pojavila čudna svetloba. Ustavil sem avto na prvem postajališču in izstopil. Svetloba se je med tem oddaljila in se ustavila nad letalom. Nekajkrat je spremenila barvo, nato pa počasi zbledela. Nekaj trenutkov sem strmel v tisto smer, ko so mi možgani počasi začeli delovati. Šel sem v avto in se odpeljal s čudnimi občutki, saj sem prvič v življenju videl nekaj, česar si nisem znal razlagati.
Doma sem prižgal TV in poslušal, če bodo kaj povedali o tem dogodku. A sem bil očitno edini, ki sem to opazil. Moram priznati, da mi takšne stvari ne dajo miru. Kljub vsemu sem dokaj mirno zaspal.
Naslednji dan sem se po službi ponovno odpravil v Novo mesto, saj me je nekaj vleklo tja. Kaj je to bilo, nisem vedel. Le neka čudna energija mi je polnila telo. Ko sem se približeval včerajšnjemu mestu, sem ves čas oprezal, če bom kaj opazil. Tokrat je bilo vse mirno. Stal sem kakšne pol ure in strmel v nebo. Le kakšen oblak je jadral v večerni temi, ostalo je počasi prekrivala tema. Kljub temu me je nekaj vleklo na včerajšnje mesto, kjer je svetloba izginila.
Usedel sem se v avto in se odpeljal. Tri puščice so me usmerjale, kam moram iti. Približno na mestu, kjer sem jo včeraj videl, sem se sprehodil in opazoval okolico. V bližnjem gozdu je bila tišina, na travniku so se pasli konji, v daljavi sem slišal redke avte, ki se jim je mudilo čim prej priti z avtoceste in domov. Ko sem se obrnil, je pred mano stala ogromna ptica. Nepremično sva se gledala nekaj trenutkov, nato pa sem iz previdnosti stopil nekaj korakov nazaj. Še vedno je stala na mestu kot velik kip, ki želi povedati, da smo majhni in minljivi. Ko so se mi oči navadile na mrak, sem opazil, da ima nekaj v kljunu. Nekaj korakov stran je bila velika lestev. Šel sem po njo tiho kot miška, nato pa s Popajevo močjo dvignil lestev in jo odnesel do ptice. Ta se še vedno ni premaknila, le tu in tam je izpustila tih glas. Strah me je minil, saj je izgledala kot Sneguljčica, ki je pojedla jabolko in postala negibna. Splezal sem do kljuna in previdno vzel kamnito ploščo, na kateri so bile številke in črke. The next day, after work, I went to Novo mesto again, because something was pulling me there. I didn't know what it was. Only some strange energy filled my body. As I approached yesterday's place, I was constantly on the lookout to see if I could spot anything. This time everything was calm. I stood for about half an hour and stared at the sky. Only a few clouds were sailing in the evening darkness, the rest was slowly covered by darkness. Still, something pulled me to yesterday's place where the light disappeared.
I got into the car and drove off. Three arrows directed me where I needed to go. Around the place where I saw her yesterday, I took a walk and looked around. There was silence in the nearby forest, horses were grazing in the meadow, in the distance I could hear rare cars that were in a hurry to get off the highway and home as soon as possible. When I turned around, there was a huge bird standing in front of me. We stared at each other for a few moments, then I took a few steps back as a precaution. She still stood in place like a large statue that wants to say that we are small and fleeting. As my eyes adjusted to the darkness, I noticed that he had something in his beak. A few steps away was a large ladder. I went for it as quietly as a mouse, then with Popeye's strength raised the ladder and carried it to the bird. She still didn't move, only letting out a low voice here and there. I was scared because she looked like Snow White who ate an apple and became motionless. I climbed up to the beak and carefully took out a stone tablet with numbers and letters on it. I knew that was the answer to my question.
