Jalemeh El-Asfani
An abandon Druze village from the 17th century.
The Druze started to inhabit the Carmel Mountain around the 16th century. They didn’t last long and were abandoned about 200-250 years after they were founded. There were over 14 Druze villages around the Carmel. Only two of them exist today: Osafiye and Deliat El-Carmel.
Jalameh was abandoned because of clashes with the local Arabs. Its inhabitants moved to Osafiye and until today, comes down to the ruins for agricultural reasons.
The nearby junction was named after this Druze village.
