This panoramic walk would have been a popular pastime for visitors to Nannau Hall, especially with the ladies of the house parties. The estate was renowned for its shooting, hunting and fishing, but wives and daughters wouldn't usually have joined in with these occupations.

Below in teh valley you can see Dolgellau. This small town is home to over 200 listed buildings, the highest concentration anywhere in Wales. The original prosperity was thanks to the wool trade, but as that declined it developed as a tourist centre, with harpists for hire, and mule trips up Cadair Idris (the mountain overlooking the town). There is an adventure lab based in the town if you want to find out more about its history.
