Eshne Wildfyre sat down heavily at the breakfast table and let out a long sigh as she sipped at her cup of coffee. Erica asked, “Another long night? I didn’t hear you come in last night.”
Esh set her cup down, “Yeah. Seems there’s someone hexing pumpkins. Once carved, they begin insulting the carver or anyone else that comes across their path. If a Muggle gets ahold of one of those pumpkins…”
Jessica put a plate of food in front of Esh, “Sounds like they’re being cursed while they’re still in the pumpkin patch. You need to talk to Gabby the Greenthumb. She grows all the magical herbs for Avery’s Apothecary. If someone is casting hexes on plants, she’d be the one to talk to.”
Esh took another sip of coffee, “Hadn’t thought of her. Might be a good idea. I’ll try her tomorrow. Do you know where she is?”
“In one of her greenhouses I assume,” replied Jessica. “She has a dozen or so.”
Erica said, “You better get started, Esh. You gotta stop that mad hexxer before Halloween. We can’t afford any foul mouthed Jack-o-lanterns getting into Muggle hands.”
With another sigh, Eshne put her fork down, “Well, no rest for the weary.”
