Many unexpected things hide beneath the earth, no matter where you go. As you walk down, deeper and deeper, you can only hope to get out safely, and even better, with a story to tell. If you're lucky, you find what you came for — if not, well, who can say what happens to those who enter and don't come back out...
When I first took the journey you're about to make, I wasn't sure what I would find. I assumed I would make it to some sort of end, out the other side, or it'd just taper off into nothing and I would be able to go no further. It just kept going, on and on, shrinking somewhat but never becoming too small to keep going. I could feel a strong wind at my back, proving that it must have an outlet somewhere. But as I walked, all I ever could see was blackness and the next turn ahead, always slightly downhill, always slowly descending. I never did make it to the end though, and ended up turning back, knowing that there were people waiting for me on the outside. Made it out, but not before placing a little something for you all to find, up 10 rungs, just before the tunnel gets too short to walk upright. Or at least, I hope I made it out. Surely I'm just imagining the clang of cars on manhole covers, surely I was just in there for a bit too long, right?
