Hjarup sogn og kirke.
I 1231 nævnes stedet som Hjarthorp. Kirken nævnes første gang i 1280. Erik Nielsen. Saxehage, Hjarup mark, havde oppebåret tiende fra 5 kirkesogne, deriblandt Hjarup sogn. Erik Nielsen var i gæld til Ribe Bispestol, og i denne forbindelse nævnes Hjarup kirke i Ribe Oldemor .
