This is the bonus cache for the Smallcombe Stroll Adventure Lab. The terrain rating considers the route of the Adventure Lab.
There is unrestricted roadside parking on Widcombe Hill (see parking coordinates). Note that further up the hill (and also considerably further down the hill) there are residents' parking restrictions.
The Adventure Lab will guide you around Smallcombe Garden Cemetery, and optionally you can make it a circular walk via Smallcombe Wood.
Smallcombe Garden Cemetery was built in two parts divided by a north/south wall to the right of the main gate. The larger Church of England section was opened in 1855 because the original St Mary's Bathwick cemetery in the city was full. It was designed in the "Garden Cemetery" style with a chapel designed by Thomas Fuller and approached by a sweeping carriage drive.
Smallcombe Wood is Bath’s only ancient woodland, having been here for at least 400 years. Discover veteran oak, lime, and ash trees along the network of informal paths. Please note that some sections through the woods are steep and can be muddy! Stages can be done in any order, but doing them in numbered order is recommended.

About the route:
It can be done as a circular walk in either direction. I suggest walking the pink highlighted section first, as that takes you to the main entrance of the garden, where there is an Information Board. Stage 2 is at this board, and also there is information there which may help you with stages 3-5. Then you can return via the woodland (yellow highlighted route).
Please note the paths in the woodland section can be steep in places, and there are several routes you can take through the woods. I think this makes it more fun, but if this worries you, you could take the "pink route" down and back.
