Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Beacon Hill branch of the Seattle Public Library. This branch has several amazing pieces of public art that you can read about on https://www.spl.org/hours-and-locations/beacon-hill-branch/beacon-hill-branch-highlights/beacon-hill-branch-art.  You'll need to find some of that art to help to find this cache, specifically four quarry rocks around the exterior perimeter of the library that have haiku poems etched on them. The poets are all from the Beacon Hill neighborhood, and two were in third grade at Beacon Hill International School when their submissions were selected.  There are four poems, one for each season.  You will gather information from each haiku to determine the local of the final container, which is only accessible when the library is open.

Note: This building is in active use as a library.  Please be quiet and respectful of the people who are here to read and work.  Library hours: Please check the Seattle Public Libraries - Beacon Hill Branch website for the latest hours.

You will be solving for the Dewey Decimal call number of the final cache.  The call number is comprised of letters and numbers.  If the clue in square brackets looks like [1st rock, 1st word, 1st letter], the result is a letter.  If the clue in square brackets looks like [#(1st rock, 1st word, 1st letter], the result is a number.  For the numbers, you will need to find the specified letter in the poem, and then determine its numerical place in the alphabet, for example if the letter is T, the number is 20 because T is the 20th letter of the alphabet.

Head to the posted coordinates and you will find the first rock, outside in front of the library, with a poem etched on it.  We will call this rock #1.  As you proceed counterclockwise around the outside of the library, you will find 3 more rocks with poems.  In the order that you find them, these will be rocks #2, #3, and #4.

[3rd rock,, 1st word, 6th letter]
[#(4th rock, 6th word, 7th letter)]
[#(2nd rock, 11th word, 3rd letter)]
[1st rock, 10th word, 3rd letter]
[4th rock, 2nd word, 4th letter]
[#(3rd rock, 8th word, 1st letter)]
[#(1st rock, 9th word, 3rd letter)]
[#(4th rock, 11th word, 2nd letter)]
[#(1st rock, 4th word, 6th letter)]
[#(2nd rock, 3rd word, 3rd letter)]

Use the main entrance to enter the library and look for the cache using the Dewey Decimal number you have calculated. Happy caching!

Congratulations to videosbysahan on the FTF!!
