Geocache Description:


高野山の西入口にあり、一山の総門である。
大門は元禄元年(1688年)に炎上、焼失し、宝永二年(1705年)に再建されました。
五間三戸、入母屋造、銅瓦葺の二階二層で、高さ25.8メートルの楼門です。
門の左右には全国で二番目に大きいとされる金剛力士像が安置されています。
また、晴れた日には、ここから淡路島や紀淡海峡を見渡すことができます。

Located at the west entrance of Koyasan, it is the main gate of Ichisan.
The Daimon was destroyed by fire in 1688 and rebuilt in 1705.
It is a 25.8-meter high two-story two-story gate with a 5-ken, three-door, irimoya-style, copper tile roof.
On the left and right sides of the gate are enshrined Kongorikishi statues, which are said to be the second largest in Japan.
Also, on a clear day, you can see Awaji Island and the Kitan Strait from here.
