'Twas Gunpowder Treason Day!

Celebrate Guy Fawkes Day!
Remember, remember, the Fifth of November
Gunpowder treason and plot
I see no reason why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot
Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes, 'twas his intent
To blow up the King and the Parliament
Three score barrels of powder below
Poor old England to overthrow
By God's providence he was catch'd
With a dark lantern and burning match
Holler boys, holler boys, let the bells ring
Holler boys, holler boys, God save the King!

What is Guy Fawkes Day, anyway?
On 5 November 1605, a Gunpowder Plot to blow up Parliament and King James I of England was foiled when Guy Fawkes was caught guarding a cache of explosives the plotters had placed beneath the House of Lords. Bonfire Night is the celebration of foiling the plot to blow up the king.
Originally called Gunpowder Treason Day, Guy Fawkes Day is still celebrated in England on November 5 with bonfires, fireworks, and burning effigies of Guy Fawkes.
Alas, the venue's management has a dim view of bonfires and burning effigies indoors. Please leave your incendiary toys at home.
