From the top if these dunes, one has a splendid view on a large part of the village of Noordwijk-binnen. The dunes end here quite suddenly; the dunes on the landside are leveled in the period before 1900. The sand is used for the production of stones, the leveled space for growing flowerbulbs. The ‘Coepelduynen’, where the cache is situated, were saved. After strong protests in 1910 to preserve the dune landscape, the leveling of the dunes is stopped. Nowadays, the ‘Coepelduynen’ are a nature reserve controlled by ‘Staatsbosbeheer’, who granted permission for placing of this cache. The central part of the ‘Coepelduynen’ is closed when birds are breeding (1st of March – 1st of September). The cache is all year accessible, but the path leading to the cache is not suitable for buggies or wheelchairs. Bikes and cars (limited) can be parked at one of the parking coordinates.
