Geocache Description:

St. Leonard's church in the village of Wigginton was rebuilt in 1777 after the tower of the ancient chapel collapsed along with the three bells it had contained!  Stones from the ancient chapel were reused in the foundations of the new Georgian brick building and in 1830 a north isle was added. I can find no mention of there being any more than a single chiming bell now, as all churches should have. The church was further enlarged in 1861 with the addition of a Neo-Gothic chancel and vestry.  The stained glass windows on the south side of the church were designed by the renowned Victorian glass designer C.E. Kempe.

The church has a website: St. Leonard's, Wigginton

To find this cache you will need to visit the published coordinates by the church building and the Lychgate to answer some questions.  The final cache is then accessible via a public footpath nearly opposite the church, or if you feel uncomfortable walking through what feels like someone's garden, via the pub car park. Failing that, or if caching at night, it might be better to use Syerscote lane and a footpath from there. Collecting the information for my other multi-cache just here War Memorial #1808 ~ Wigginton (GCA190Q) before you do, will help with navigation, as they form a short walk between them.

At the published coordinates:

You will find a gravestone to the memory of someone who was clearly worth his Salt!  So much so they wrote a rhyme about him.

AB = At what age did William die?
C = How many words in the rhyme have strange spellings, involving an apostrophe in the middle of the word?

At stage 2, The Lychgate:

DE = For how many years was Charles Mercer the organist and choirmaster here?

N52 39.DE(A-D) W001 41.CA(B+D)

The checksum of A to E is 19.
