Another part of the Darlaston History series is Kings Hill Park. It is a well used and valued green space in Darlaston and designated as one of Walsall's 25 premier green spaces. The park measures 7 hectares in size and is made up of two zones. The historical park includes a children's play area, a picnic area, some small open areas of utilitous grassland spaces and a prominent central mound. The second area of the park, laying to the south, is a later addition and incorporates junior football pitches and changing rooms.
To celebrate 100 years anniversary of the park, Planet Art worked with Friends of Kings Hill Park and other local communites to develop concepts for an art work. This beautiful art is made from granite and cast iron.

The park is under Queen Elizabeth II Fields' protection. The Queen Elizabeth II Fields Challenge, operated by Fields in Trust, is a campaign to protect 2012 outdoor recreational spaces in communities across the UK as a permanent living legacy of The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
