1775. gadā par Ropažu muižas īpašnieka Johana Kristofa fon Kampenhauzena (1716-1782) līdzekļiem uzcēla jaunu koka baznīcu. Tā atradās tagadējās baznīcas vietā ar ieeju rietumu virzienā.
1893. gadā par Ropažu muižas īpašnieka Džeimsa Georga Leonharda fon Volfa (1854-1928) līdzekļiem uzcēla Neogotikas stila mūra baznīcu.
II Pasaules kar laikā 1944. gadā, vācu armijai atkāpjoties, tika uzspridzināts baznīcas tornis, lai likvidētu uzbrūkošajai Padomju armijai novērošanas punktu. Baznīcas telpa palika neskarta un dievkalpojumi tajā notika līdz pat 1959. gadam. Pēc tam paši pagasta ļaudis baznīcu izdemolējuši un izzaguši.
No 1997. gada līdz mūsdienām notiek baznīcas atjaunošanas darbi.

In 1775, a new wooden church was built at the expense of Johann Christoph von Kampenhausen (1716-1782), the owner of the Ropaži manor. It was located on the site of the present church with an entrance towards the west.
In 1893, a Neo-Gothic stone church was built at the expense of James Georg Leonhard von Wolff (1854-1928), the owner of the Ropaži manor.
During World War II in 1944, when the German army was retreating, the church tower was blown up in order to eliminate the observation point for the attacking Soviet army. The church room remained intact and services were held there until 1959. After that, the people of the parish vandalized and stole the church.
From 1997 to the present day, the church is being renovated.
