A stone folly, locally called the monkey house. A disrespectful name for the gentry who built it.There was a wooden bench seat with numerous carvings in it, dates initials etc but this was burnt by vandalls some time in the early eighties. The 'gentry' who sat here looked across the valley admiring the view. The wood here was very old beech trees but a lot were blown down in a very severe gale about 1970 these were replaced by the current conifers which obscure the view. Please email me with the date and the name of the man who built it.
