ScouterHerb & MrsB have adopted this cache. This cache was placed during the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend in 2002 by Duncan, Lucas, Schlenders.
February 12, 2006 ScouterHerb & MrsB, replaced the container supplied by Ibycus and placed its content's plus contents from the two additional Zip Lock Bags into one 2 Litre camouflaged Lock Box. We also corrected the coordinates slightly.
An explanation of the cache name is in order as it is now on the "Elbow Trail" which was re-named from West Bragg Creek Trail, which the trail was called when the cache was first placed.
The massive flood of June 2013 wiped out a large part of the beginning of the original trail, who's trailhead was at the East end of the Allen Bill Pond parking lot. A new re-route Elbow Trail, who's trail head is across the road near the entrance to the Forestry Work Camp, takes you up over the hill and the back down to join the original Elbow Trail just before the Fullerton Trail branches off. So this old cache that has survived neglect, unexpected trips and the flood has now been re-located just off of this new re-route trail immediately above its old location. Let us see if it can survive another decade.
The Original Log Book placed by Duncan, Lucas, Schlenders:
We removed the original log book after recovering the cache after the June 2013 flood moved it downstream. Luckly the cache got caught in some bushes and was recovered. The flood was so bad it wiped out the trail 80 meters past the cache. We decided to remove the log book, which was nearly full, and save it for historical value. We have placed it on-line as a slide show for those who are interested in reading an old log book!
You may view it at this link.
The cache is near a very busy trail, so beware of Muggles!
