Geocache Description:

13 November 2022, 11:30 - 13:30

The GGA November 2022 Meeting will be held on Sunday, November 13th from 11:30 PM until 1:00 PM.

If you want to simply attend...

...sample several awesome chilis and select 2022's GGA Chili Commander-In-Chef, please arrive at the Group Shelter in FDR State Park.  Bring a hearty appetite, stories about geocaching and camping in our wonderful GA State Parks, and enjoy bringing back the tradition that began in 2006.

If you want to want to enter the competition and show off your chili chops...

...please bring your chili ready to eat, or close to it. Contestants will need to bring a chili serving utensil. Bowls, eating utensils, cheese and saltine crackers will be provided. Electrical outlets will be provided for chili pots. If your presentation needs electricity or if you have a spare, please bring an extension cord or power bar.

Check In for entrants will start at 11:30 am, eating and judging will begin and noon and end at 1:00 PM.   After judging will be prizes, and event will end at 1:30 PM

If you plan on entering the competition, please let us know in your Will Attend.

Entrants will also be provided with a small card to list / display any unique ingredients. Ingredients such as, but not limited to: peanuts, chocolate, shellfish, seafood, honey, MSG, etc. This is for the safety of those with specific food allergies.

We will again be having a Non-Traditional Chili Category. This will be chili that is not traditional red. Traditional red chili is defined as any combination of meats, cooked with red chili peppers, various spices and other ingredients. Some ideas for alternative chili are white, vegetarian, verde or anything you can think of. If a contestant bringing an alternative chili would prefer to compete in the traditional category that is allowed. A traditional chili as described above may not compete in the Non-Traditional category.

This year we are also adding a Best Cornbread competition to replace the Chili Hat.  Cornbread competitors do not need to also bring a chili to enter; however, you are welcome to compete for both.

4 awards will be given;
a - Best Cornbread!
b - Best Presentation!
c - GGA Chili Commander-In-Chef - Non Traditional!
d - GGA Chili Commander-In-Chef - Traditional!

Voting will be by secret ballot; however only one vote per attendee!

You do not need to bring chili to attend, but- the more, the merrier!

There is a $5 day-use fee to enter FDR State Park, unless you have a Friends of GA State Parks membership
