The Owl and the Pussycat
The building opposite STONEY LANE with Old Father Time on the wall used to be the threshing barn for Wilton Farm.
It is said that when the farm needed extra hands Old Father Time was turned upside down to let passers by know.
When the building was refurbished in 1888 the owner had stones carved that depicted the characters from The Owl and the Pussycat poem. These stones are clearly visible set into the west wall of the building.
