Geocache Description:

mkettel

mkettel is from Rockford, Michigan. This was the Who Let The Dogs Out series 3/20/22 near Fremont/Big Rapids with the hiking viking (Dan) flyguysgal (Amber) and JustAFriendFromWork (Macy) and myself. Dan's log:
Last dog of the day. Good run overall this first day of Spring. Over 70 caches found. Started the day at the carpool lot at 7:30am and stopped just past 2pm. So not a long day. The two-tracks treated us well, ground still frozen below the light layer of mud on top of it. Most of the holes and deep ruts are passable if you are smart about it, couple of hairy sections but mkeetel's Jeep GC got us thru it all. We came prepared with recovery gear but didn't need it. Phew. Did have one mishap.... I checked out a watery hole, walked thru it to make sure the Jeep could pass. My tall neoprene boots up to that task. Tell mkettel, it's fine if we stay left. He says that he wants to go thru it on the right... I wander over there and two steps, I'm in a deep rut with my boots filling up. C'mon man. Lol. Next time he can check the holes. Had squishy boots the rest of the day, glad we didn't have any long hikes.
Nature was awesome as we heard sandhill cranes often today. Mating season so they are active and talkative. Seen them flying around calling out to each other, and seen a pair at a pond looking for a nest perhaps. Awesome. Other than that, quiet woods back here.
Weather was perfect, chilly morning starting off, lot of thick fog. But by the time we got to the two tracks, the morning sunrise had burnt that off. So sunny all day and temps hit about 50 by the time we were done. Perfect.
Who's boots filled with water(caching name)?
