When you see a cache with a lot of favorite points, it's usually a good bet it will be worth a visit. Whether it's the location, the creation, the view, container, or some other part of the experience, those caches that collect favorite points do so for good reason. When looking around for some new challenge ideas that fit my style of caching, I stumbled upon this idea, which I love! Big shout out to MNTA for the original idea and their now archived version of this unique challenge (GC7R26B). This challenge is designed to encourage you to get out and find some favorites... all across the country. Sometimes the most popular caches tend to be where most people are... so big numbers in big cities. But there are so many fun caches (and many of my personal favorites) to be found far and wide. Each and every county in this country has something unique to offer our caching culture and community. This is also placed at one of my favorite spots. Come for the cache, stay for the view!
Access to this cache is from the downhill direction EASTBOUND on Highway 50 only.
Challenge Qualifications: Find a Top 10 Favorited Cache in 50 Different Counties.
To qualify for this cache you need to have a find on one of the Top 10 favorited caches in 50 distinct and different US counties. That's 50 unique cache finds to qualify... This is highway 50, after all. Finding THE FAVORITE cache in each county sounds a little too exclusive, so any cache in a county's TOP TEN list will count as that county's find! Hopefully this encourages you to get out and explore more! You could qualify for this cache using California alone, with its 58 counties, but any county in any US state will count towards your qualifications. Some of the most favorited caches in each county have been archived, so this checker should allow those to count in addition to the Top 10 ACTIVE caches with the most favorite points per county. I'm pretty sure I'm well beyond 50 counties to qualify, but the first 50 that show up for me, as of publication are as follows:
