Geocache Description:

Welcome to San Pasqual Cemetery! Please be respectful and act as those buried here are your loved ones.

San Pasqual Valley is mostly known in modern times for it's agriculture. This cemetery was organized on land donated by the Rockwoods and Trussells.  In 1911,  as the population of the valley grew, and a more formal location was needed, the San Pasqual Valley Cemetery Association was formed.

Although this is the first cache in San Pasqual for us, it's actually not the first cache here in this cemetery. There was one here before that was archived quite a while ago. You can actually still find the old container in the same spot it has been for many years, although it may house a few more spiders than it once did. This cache is only 20 or so feet away from where the old cache sits.

And for people interested in history, there was a battle fought in the valley on December 6, 1846. Between the Californios and the Army of the West. It was part of what was the Mexican War.

This cache was placed with complete permission by the caretaker, (who, coincidentally, is a bit of a geocacher themselves), and we made sure that the cache is in an out-of-the-way location for your convenience.
