Hiked this trail three times over the course of a week. I was looking for Applejack's Dream Cache II, I had a couple of DNFs before I found it with a nudge from the CO, MrGrubstake. The write-up for Applejack's Dream Cache II mentioned a smaller unnamed lake to the north of Glen Lake. MrGrubstake named that lake, Rich Lake. In October, when I was here, the lake dried up enough to separate into two smaller lakes. The trail makes a loop to pass by Glen and Rich Lake(s). MrGrubstake used rocks as a clever way to get to his final. I'm using the same idea, just slightly different.
These lakes are in the Bitterroot-Selway Wilderness. You will NOT find a container at the first location. Instead, you will find a burned tree that is now a snag. At its base, you will find some horizontal markings and a number. The number of markings is Y, the number you see is Z.
The final is at N 46 26.ABC W 114 15.DEF
A = Z - (2Y+1)
B = 2Z - 6
C = Z - (2Y+1)
D = 3Y - (Z+1)
E = (5Y-1) - Z
F = 3Y - (Z+1)
The final is a medium-sized plastic container.
Special thanks to MrGrubstake for hiding Applejack's Dream Cache II, it is just one of his amazing hide's.
