The Cache is not at the Posted Coordinates
but that is where you should start.
BYOP
This is a night cache. You will need a bright flashlight or headlamp and BYOP.
Free parking is available very near the Posted Coordinates.
There are a number of historic homes along the cache route you may learn about if you are interested, by downloading or accessing the Stillwater Historic South Hill brochure.
Navigate using your GPS as follows:
- Start at the Posted Coordinates.
- Proceed 150 feet at 345 degrees.
- Enjoy a nice view of Stillwater, then walk West until the sidewalk turns North, the look North for the starting tack.
Continue along the route, followng the reflective tacks on utility poles / trees along the sidewalk, using the navigation guidelines.
See below for examples.
- The reflective tacks are 5-6 feet high.
- One white tack means continue straight.
- One white tack, with an orange tack to its right indicates a right turn.
- One white tack, with an orange tack to its left indicates a left turn.
- Three orange tacks mark the cache location.
- Diamond shaped tacks on the sides of the poles or trees point toward the historic homes in the Historic Home link above. (These are private property).
- Your feet will NEVER leave the pavement (sidewalk or street) except to retrieve the cache from public property.
- Never go into a front yard.
- Due to spacing of trees and posts, you might walk as much as a block without a tack.
- Due to spacing of trees and posts, a turn might be signaled some distance or immediately prior to the actual turn. Just turn at the next paved opportunity.
Have fun !
