This is the eleventh cache in a series based on our family’s love of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians book series, and is a tribute to Hephestus, God of the forges, fire, technology, craftsmen, sculptors, volcanoes, and blacksmiths.
Since it is well known that Hephestus is a little “Touchy about his toys” we opted not to go rummaging in his junkyard for parts of this cache, but rather sought out some help in the designing from the big guy himself.
His advice was to keep it simple, but to have fun watching people struggle nonetheless. When we finished construction of this basic birdhouse cache, he said “I know how that machine works. Good job, this should be fun.”
We have opted to include the field puzzle attribute so that cachers can feel good about their efforts in signing the log.
