Welcome to the lovely town of Crossmolina!
Situated on the River Deel, near the northern shores of Lough Conn, Crossmolina is on the N59 road, approx 9km west of Ballina.
The town derives its name from the Irish 'Crois Uí Mhaoilíona', meaning the Cross of Mullany. The cross referred to, stands in the town in memory of O'Maolfhiona, a chieftain and member of the local ruling family, Clann Fiachra.
The picturesque town of Crossmolina is located 13km from Ballina, 30 mins from both Castlebar and Westport and approx 50km from Ireland West Airport Knock and Knock Marian Shrine.
Only 14km from the Mayo coastline, with its beautiful sandy beaches, Crossmolina rests easily in the shadow of Nephin Mountain - a challenging climb for hill walkers, who will be rewarded with breathtaking views of miles of untarnished natural beauty in this idyllic corner of Mayo.
The Sensory Garden
This is a beautiful garden with many wonderful features. The highlight would have to be it's amazing water feature which has it's own waterfall. Normally the water feature is off as it only runs for a certain amount of time. However you can switch the waterfall on from inside the log cabin with is another feature in itself. The garden has various different shrubs and plants with a wide variety of colour and textures. The garden is great place to spend some time and would be ideal for a picnic
