Geocache Description:

I dared SM325 to make me sweat again to find a place for a 30K tribute. Well, big surprise, he did that. I was honored to be with many others accompanying him when he zipped right to his 30,000th find. I managed to get this tribute to his most recent achievement in place a little sooner than I usually do but he's still well past 30K by now. (He continues to do retirement way better than I do.) I was surprised to find a spot that appears to still be available in Englewood Reserve. Hopefully, the reviewer will confirm that it is indeed available. And I of course got permission from Five Rivers MetroParks for the placement, special permit number GO9720.22.

It's again the part of the reserve on the western side of the river. Waypoints for the parking lot entrance and a trailhead are included below. The trail is not paved but it should be navigable via wheel chair if the ground is dry and firm. However, the cache itself will involve a short excursion off of the trail and I don't recommend attempting that in a wheel chair.

There is a package in the cache labelled "For SM325!". It would be really spiffy if SM325 is the first person to see that package but if it works out that he is not, please do not take the package labelled "For SM325!" if you are not SM325 or acting on his behalf.

I again remembered to sneak a pen into the container (a good-sized Small) but bringing your own is always a good thing. Please obey all park rules. The park's hours of operation are:

8:00 AM - 10:00 PM, 1 April to 31 October

8:00 AM - 8:00 PM, 1 November to 31 March

There are some empty baggies in the cache. Those are spares in case the one the logbook's in needs replaced. (But if you want to put TBs in them, that's okay too.)

So, congratulations, SM325! (Now, go ahead. Make me sweat again to find a place for a 35K tribute. I dare ya.)

A Note About Travel Items for People Who May Not Be Familiar With Them

In addition to trade items (commonly known as "swag"), geocaches quite often contain travel bugs or geocoins. These items are not for general trading. They are "travel items." They are the property of other people and their goal is to be taken from one cache by geocachers and then placed in other caches, i.e., to travel from cache to cache. There are two types of travel items, travel bugs and geocoins. These items must be logged separately from logging the find for the geocache. There's a "special process" for that. A travel bug is usually some type of trinket (such as a small stuffed animal) with what looks like a dog tag attached to it. Sometimes it's just the dog tag. Either way, the dog tag will have a string of letters or numbers on it. Geocoins will also have such a string imprinted on or engraved into them. That string is called the "tracking number." It is important for logging the travel item as it's retrieved from and placed in geocaches. Please watch out for such items and do not take them if you don't intend on helping them travel to another geocache or do not wish to learn the logging procedure.
