Happy 22nd birthday GC111 - Napa County's First Geocache!
This event will take place near the parking lot of Skyline Park, in Napa on Saturday, December 24, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM (yes this is on Christmas Eve). I'm hosting it in the morning since it is on Christmas Eve. We will meet near the parking lot at a picnic table (or at least what looks like a picnic table on satellite view), where we can discuss caching, year 2000 caches, Christmas, or anything else. At 9:30 AM, I'm going to head to find GC111, and probably a few more caches in Skyline Park. This event will happen rain or shine. Hiking to find GC111 (or any hiking at all) is optional for event attendees. Round trip hike from the parking lot to just GC111 and back is about 2.2 miles with about 600 feet elevation gain. Round trip to get most of the caches in the park, including going to the summit of Sugarloaf Moutain is about 7 miles with about 1600 feet elevation gain. Round trip to get all the caches in the park, including a 6 year lonely cache (GC1DKFH) is about 10 miles with about 2000 feet elevation gain. Again, no hike is required to log an attend on the event, just make the no more than a few hundred feet hike to where we will be meeting.
Park has a $6 entry fee for each car, or $3 per person if walking into the park. Dogs are not allowed, bikes and horses are allowed.
