Small cache in Portage Park - Victoria BC.
The third oldest cache on Vancouver Island!
It is located in the middle of Portage Park in Victoria BC.
If you park at the View Royal Municipal Hall you will see the Portage Park sign welcoming you. Follow the trail system until you are on the east side of the park on a trail paralleling the railway tracks. You'll see 2 fir trees which have been topped at approximately the same height on your right and a small trail meanders between them. The cache is about 20 paces due west of these two trees, and about 10 feet from a small creek which runs north/south. It is at the base of a huge pair of poplar trees in a small hole and covered in forest debris. Best of Luck!
The Oldest Cache on Vancouver Island is GC84D - hid on April 30, 2001. The second oldest cache is GC95B - hid on May 14, 2001 and then this cache follows closely - hid on May 21, 2001.
