Geocache Description:

Water, water, everywhere,

And all the boards did shrink;

Water, water, everywhere,

Nor any drop to drink.

From the listed coordinates, look at the road, you should see a distinct hump.  If it isn't immediately obvious, look at the metal fencing on the opposite side of the road and see how uneven it is.

Once upon a time, a channel of the Gipping river flowed here.  It was probably a manmade channel, dating back to Roman times.  The cut flowed down the Alderman canal, behind Alderman Park, along Little Gipping Street (likely the origin of the street name), across the old cattle market car park, across Wolsey Street, rejoining the main channel near the skate park by Stoke bridge.  In Victorian times, most of the channel was covered over and only the stretch of the Alderman canal remains visible.  However, here, where the channel crosses Wolsey Street, evidence of its existence remains in this visible hump in the road.

The cache itself is a simple offset multi.  To find the coordinates, take a look around the area.  The taxi rank is A0 yards away.  There are B vertical pipes.  The cache can be found at:

N 52° 03.(A-3)(A+3)(A-5) E 001° 08.(B+5)(B+2)(B-2)
