In the Middle Ages, a chapel dedicated to St. Elizabeth of Thuringia (1207-1231) stood on the top of the hill, next to it was a cemetery that belonged to the neighboring infirmary. In the bushes of the garden, the visitor can still find the foundation walls of the two buildings. Ramparts and former ditches lead us to assume that the Marcau hill belonged to the "Val Serris" dam in the "Letzinental". It is also assumed that this is an escape hill from prehistoric times. School classes from Winterthur uncovered the altar and part of the interior in 1956 and 1958.
The cache is located not far from the chapel. There is a beautiful view of Flims from the chapel.
Auf der Kuppe des Hügels stand im Mittelalter eine der heiligen Elisabeth von Thüringen (1207-1231) geweihte Kapelle, daneben lag ein Friedhof, der zum benachbarten Siechenhaus gehörte. Im Gebüsch des Gartens findet der Besucher noch die Grundmauern der beiden Gebäude. Wälle und ehemalige Gräben lassen uns annehmen, dass der Hügel Marcau zur Talsperre "Val Serris" zum "Letzinental" gehörte. Vermutet wird auch, es handle sich hier um einen Fluchthügel aus urgeschichtlicher Zeit. Winterthurer Schulklassen haben 1956 und 1958 den Altar und einen Teil des Innenraumes freigelegt.
Der Cache befindet sich in der Nähe der Kapelle. Von der Kapelle hat man eine schöne Aussicht auf Flims.
