Geocache Description:

This cache is definitely located in a no parking zone. It is about 1/3 of a mile from the nearest legal parking spot along what appears to be and old abandoned road and should be an easy find. In fact you should have a pretty good idea where to look from at least 50 feet away.

On 16-Dec-02 I revised the coordinates to match the ones posted in Moun10Bike's log. Apparently the original coordinates I posted were for the spot where the trail turns left 90 degrees. On 10-Feb-03 I updated the terrain difficulty to 3 because several people have commented on the amount of uphill hiking required to reach the cache. On 6-July-03 I updated the hint to reflect a very slight relocation of the cache.

The penalty for parking illegally varies greatly in different parts of the U.S.A. You do not want to pay the penalty for parking near this cache so you had best start your hunt along the road near N 47° 30.793’, W 122° 04.675. If you start at the larger trailhead just south of this spot reaching the cache will require a lot more hiking or a lot of bushwacking. This should be a fairly easy cache to find once you get close. You should have a good idea where to look from at least 50 feet away so try it without using the hint first.

There is a bonus logbook unrelated to geocaching that can be reached from this cache with about a mile of extra hiking, mostly uphill. If you are interested, continue down the main trail to the first sign post. Turn right and follow the signs to the Shy Bear trail. You can loop back to the main trail on the Shy Bear trail and follow that back to the parking coordinate. The truly adventurous can follow a game trail that leaves the main trail at N 47° 30.812’, W 122° 05.428 and takes you back to the cache trail just south of the cache. If you find the bonus logbook be sure to mention it when you pass the cache on your way home.

The cache is a round 5 pint food container inside a black plastic bag. The original contents were the Speed Racer travel bug from the Metal Bugs of Mystery Discovered cache, a toy helicopter from the Kite Hill cache, a toy car from the REI Co-op-eration cache, and a toy Army truck that was the first item claimed from the Cushman 95,000 cache.

There are several plastic bags in the area so don't giveup before you try the hint.
