Cette cache fait partie de la série « Beauté couthinoise » qui comporte 18 caches traditionnelles + un courte multi + une boite aux lettres + une bonus de type mystère. J’ai essayé de faire en sorte que toutes les caches soient différentes (le type de cache et/ou le type d’emplacement). Pensez à prendre de quoi écrire, une pince à épiler, une tige aimantée mais aussi 1l d’eau. Merci de les remettre exactement à leur place et de bien vouloir en prendre soin en les manipulant.
Il y a 8,2km entre le point BC#1 et le point BC#20 en empruntant les chemins les plus rapides. De nombreux chemins sont inaccessibles en voiture mais vous pouvez vous garer à proximité de la première cache pour partir ensuite à pied ou en vélo. Il faudra par contre prendre la voiture pour atteindre la bonus à l’extrémité du village.
L’église Notre Dame de la Nativité de Couthuin a été construite en 1866-67 en moellons de calcaire sur des plans de l’architecte Halkin. Elle a été construite à l’emplacement d’une ancienne église en l’honneur de Saint Denis dont il ne reste plus rien aujourd’hui. Cet édifice de style néo-gothique primaire comprend une haute tour occidentale, trois nefs de cinq travées avec colonnes en pierre, un transept et un chœur profond se terminant par un chevet à trois pans. La Fabrique d’église travaille sur différents projets ayant pour but de redonner à l’église une place plus importante dans l’espace public. Cela devrait commencer par l’ouverture de l’église en journée dès 2023. D’autres projets parallèles verront ensuite le jour petit à petit.

Deze cache maakt deel uit van de serie "Couthin Beauty" met 18 traditionele caches + een korte multi + een brievenbus + een bonus van het type mystery. Ik heb geprobeerd om alle caches verschillend te maken (cachetype en/of slottype). Denk eraan iets mee te nemen om op te schrijven, een pincet, een magneetstaafje maar ook 1 liter water. Zet ze a.u.b. precies op hun plaats terug en wees er zuinig op bij het hanteren ervan.
Er is 8,2km tussen de punten BC#1 en BC#20 via de kortste weg. De meeste wegen zijn niet met de wagen gebruikbaar maar het is mogelijk de wagen naast punt een te parkeren om de parcour te voet of met de fiets te doen. Aan de andere kant moet je de auto nemen om de bonus aan het einde van het dorp te bereiken.
De kerk van Onze-Lieve-Vrouw van de Geboorte van Couthuin werd gebouwd in 1866-67 in kalksteenpuin volgens de plannen van de architect Halkin. Het werd gebouwd op de plaats van een oude kerk ter ere van Saint Denis, waarvan vandaag niets meer over is. Dit gebouw in primaire neogotische stijl omvat een hoge westelijke toren, drie vijfbeuken beuken met stenen zuilen, een transept en een diep koor dat eindigt in een driezijdige apsis. La Fabrique d’église werkt aan verschillende projecten om de kerk een belangrijkere plek in de openbare ruimte te geven. Dit zou moeten beginnen met de dagopening van de kerk vanaf 2023. Andere parallelle projecten zullen dan beetje bij beetje het levenslicht zien.

This cache is part of the "Couthin Beauty" series which features 18 traditional caches + a short multi + a letterbox + a mystery type bonus. I tried to make all caches different (cache type and/or slot type). Remember to take something to write, tweezers, a magnetic rod but also 1l of water. Please put them back exactly in their place and kindly take care of them when handling them.
There are 8,2km (5 miles) between point BC#1 and BC#20 by using the fastest paths. Many paths are inaccessible by car, but you can park near the first cache and then leave on foot or by bike. On the other hand, you will have to take the car to reach the bonus at the end of the village.
The Church of Our Lady of the Nativity of Couthuin was built in 1866-67 in limestone rubble according to plans by the architect Halkin. It was built on the site of an old church in honor of Saint Denis, of which nothing remains today. This primary neo-Gothic style building includes a high western tower, three five-bay naves with stone columns, a transept and a deep choir ending in a three-sided apse. The Fabrique d’église is working on various projects aimed at giving the church a more important place in the public space. This should start with the opening of the church during the day from 2023.
