Resurrection of an old cache first published in May 2013, time for a new one.
A fairly straightforward multi cache, designed to be part of the national Church Micro series.
These are the remains of the first Church of All Saints, Hainford. It is now Grade II listed. The remains of the West Tower go back to the 15th Century, although part of the building was added in the 19thCentury. There is some evidence to suggest that there was a church on the site in the late 13thCentury, the list of rectors goes back to 1295.
The tower now is clearly in a ruinous state. There are warning notices and a fence in place telling people: “Danger Falling Masonry Keep Out”.
These warnings should be heeded. Just because there is a nice graveyard to hand, is no reason to make early use of it!
Please respect the site as it is still the parish burial ground, as the water table at the new church is too high.
At the posted location find the resting place of Charles and Mary, then work out the final location from this puzzle:-
N 1/3; 4/10: 2/4; 3/1: 2/8;1/5; 4/8.
E(9/13-10/5); (5/6-5/6); 3/3: 2/6; 7/11; (4/6-4/9); (11/1-11/4); 8/8.
