MOGA 2023 - GMC Sierra Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

GLC: Thanks to all who visited, and to all who helped maintain this piece of "art". Keeping up with the maintenance on this "trail" has become a nightmare. It was reported that more were missing than were there, so I made a snap decision today to have all of the containers pulled as a couple of friends were willing to do that for me while in the area. (Thank P and TP!) So I hope those of you who got to complete it, enjoys the art. To those of you who were chipping away at it.....sorry!

Geocache Description:

GMC created an upscale version of its Sierra 1500 in 2001 called the Sierra C3. It used all-wheel drive with a 3.73 final drive gear ratio and included the 6.0 L Vortec 6000 LQ4 V8 rated at 325 hp at 5000 rpm and 370 lb•ft of torque at 4000 rpm. It was coupled to a 4L60E-HD 4-speed automatic transmission along with other upscale equipment. For 2002, the name was changed to Sierra Denali, but the specifications remained essentially the same except for the addition of Quadrasteer and GM changed from the 4L60E-HD to the 4L65E in conjunction with a 4.10 final drive gear ratio.
The Denali is rated for towing 10,000 pounds and hauling 1,840 pounds in the cargo box.
The Sierra Denali was initially equipped with Delphi's Quadrasteer system as standard equipment. It was a 4-wheel steering system that greatly reduced the truck's turning radius and improved lane changing while towing. General Motors dropped Quadrasteer from the Sierra Denali after the 2004 model year and its entire lineup after 2005 due to poor sales of this expensive option.

SPECIAL THANKS TO GLC, BGSCRABBLE, ERICATAYLOR, AFISHOUTAWATER AND AGHUDLEY for all their hard work on this geoart. If not for their help, this would have never happened!! GREAT JOB TEAM!
