Background
Welcome to my series of odd and miscellaneous challenges.
Wikipedia defines a doppelgänger as
a biologically unrelated look-alike, or a double, of a living person
It is up for debate whether doppelgängers really exist or not. In theory, they claim every person has a doppelgänger out there, a so-called identical twin. This challenge tests that theory and strrrrrreeetttches it just a teeny tiny bit more, as it applies to geocaching.
And so we ask - is there such a thing as a cache doppelgänger? Can there be 2 identical caches out there? Would one necessarily be good and the other evil as per the plot of most doppelgänger movies then? All good questions we want to find the answers for. (It feels like we should be ending this with some dramatic music and a The Truth Is Out There splash screen.)
However (I want to believe) finding 2 identical caches out there would be too easy so...
The Challenge
To qualify for this challenge, you must have found 12 doppelgänger caches. In other words, you must have found a cache in 12 different regions, all of the same cache type, same cache size, and all with the same difficulty and terrain levels. A region is defined as any Canadian province or territory, any U.S. state (including D.C.), or their equivalent in any other country.
The Requirements
Some more things about the challenge to be aware of:
- All cache types except adventure lab caches, benchmarks, and locationless caches can be used for this challenge. And there are other cache types such as Geocaching HQ, Geocaching HQ Block Parties, Geocaching HQ Celebrations and Project APE Caches which aren't very conducive for this challenge since there are so few of them and/or they are only in one region.
- Any caches that are currently disabled or have been archived can still be used for this challenge, as long as you found them in the past.
- This is not a streak challenge in any way. The finds do not have to be sequential in any way.
- There are no time restrictions or any required order for these caches to be found in.
The fine print
CO reserves the right to make any changes to this challenge if any issues or ambiguities are discovered. CO will be fair but has the final say on any events, caches, finds, or logs that are questionable. CO reserves the right to delete any logs if problems are found.
Finding This Cache
Do NOT access this cache from Highway 2. Please use the nearby service road instead.
Please remember to be respectful of the cache location. Be aware of how and where the cache is "attached" so that it can be put back in exactly the same way and in the same place for the next person(s) to enjoy. Only the "inner" portion of the cache needs to be removed to log the cache. The container may not be accessible during the winter months.
Logging This Cache
As with any challenge caches, you are welcome to physically sign the log for this cache and log it as "Write Note" if you haven't met the challenge's requirements yet. Please bring your own pen(cil)/writing instrument to sign the log.
Please use this Project-GC challenge checker below to verify if you have qualified for this challenge.

You can only log a "Found It" entry online after you've completed the challenge and signed the log. All non-qualifying "Found It" logs will be deleted without notice.
Similar Challenge Caches?
Whether you qualify for this challenge or not, you may also qualify for similar challenges as well.
If you know of any other caches similar to this challenge or if you want to replicate this challenge in your area, please let me know and I will add those caches here so that other cachers can be aware.
