The Holiday Bowl is a bowl game that has been around since the 1970s. It currently features teams from the Pac 12 and the ACC conferences. It is playing at Petco Park after many years at old San Diego stadium which was demolished after the Chargers left for Los Angeles. Several years the Big Ten sent a representative here. The Holiday Bowl did crown the national champion one year when BYU defeated Michigan in the 1984 Holiday Bowl. BYU came into the game ranked #1.
