Originally placed by Joxer88 and accidently archived, I have taken this over to maintain an excellent cache. It is now a bison tube: currently bright green!! I have also moved it a small distance from the original to make it a little more kid friendly.
When placing it originally Joxer 88 wrote that "This is one of my favourite areas of the park and I believe one of the lesser known. It always reminds me of one of my favourite movies as a child "The Secret Garden" from 1993. This area of the park shows the "walled garden" that was created by the Guinness family when they owned the estate. Unfortunately, the mansion which stood close by no longer exists.
There are a number of lovely, unique features within this small space that includes a yew hedge and flower bed that is currently in full bloom (July) and looks beautiful. My favourite feature is the former Georgian door entrance of a French lavender garden. There are also a number of dried out water features in the corners close by, however, disappointingly these have become magnets for grafitti and rubbish. It would be great if they could be restored somewhat close to their former glory. There are a number of ways to enter the garden and each brings with it it's own unique experience. If you approach from the main avenue side you can walk through a lovely secluded meadow-like area before entering through the Georgian door. Approaching from the duck pond area you will probably pass through one of two really nice rock arches. I would definitely encourage you to stay and explore the area as each time I visit it, I tend to find or see something intersting that I hadn't seen previously."
The cache itself is a bison tube and is best approached from within the garden. No climbing of either trees or banks needed. Please be careful. Try not to completely remove the container itself (which is held in place by a tendril of ivy) - you can remove the log and sign it while leaving the bison attached.
Congratulations to CachePint on First To Find on 12 May 2022.
