The Sugar Bowl began in 1935 and is one of the oldest college football games played. It has been played at the Superdome in New Orleans since 1975. The Sugar Bowl has an agreement with the SEC, ensuring a team from that conference is part of the bowl game. Even with the Sugar Bowl becoming a part of the College Football Playoff, they continue to host SEC teams.
