Geocache Description:

The Spice Loop lives again! Back in 2014, seamusbleu placed a number of caches in this area and called it the Spice Loop. I think it was the first “family” of caches I had found since moving to Minnesota. After the 2015 Spring though, the Minnesota River washed out the only bridge that allowed easy access to the area. Hikers could still come from the west, but with the lack of use, the trail quickly became overgrown and darn near invisible.

Shakopee Parks and Recreation has installed a new bridge and the loop is coming back to life. I would recommend completing this series in number order. You can also see parking cords at The Spice Loop 1 - Cinnamon. In the beginning, the trail is pretty easy to follow, but from Spice Loop #6, you should keep an eye out for orange-painted marks on trees to guide you on the trail.

All of these caches are placed in a winter friendly (4-5 feet) manner, typically a little ways off the main trail. That “little ways” could be tough in deep snow or in the middle of summer with the vegetation growth.
