DUOTUOSE KOORINATĖSE LOBIO NĖRA!
Fortas įsikūręs greta Kauno marių, Sėmenos upelio, nors fortas ir dalyvavo Kauno tvirtovės gynyboje, tačiau nuo tiesioginės priešų artilerijos nenukentėjo: kai kurie kazematai sugriauti besitraukiantiems tvirtovės gynėjams susprogdinus šaudmenų likučius. Aplinkui stūkso sovietinės kariuomenės – priešlėktuvinės gynybos pulko techninio diviziono – palikimas: betoninės plokštės, betonu grįsti keliai, platformos, įvairios paskirties pastatai, užlyginta dalis griovių.
Dėl sudėtingų reljefo sąlygų šio forto statybos ir pritaikymas XIX a. pab., papildomos artilerijos baterijos priskyrimas bei sudėtinga drenažinė sistema lėmė, jog šis kompleksas tapo brangiausia Kauno tvirtovės dalimi. Ji kainavo daugiau nei 500 tūkst. rublių. Palyginimui galite įsivaizduoti, kad septyniems fortams bei devyniems artilerijos įtvirtinimams buvo išleista apie 3 mln. rublių.
XX a. pr. fortas iš dalies modernizuotas – buvo išbetonuotas kaponierius ir vienas šaudmenų sandėlis. Pirmojo pasaulinio karo metais, Vokiečių puolimo metu, fortas buvo apleistas, nors nuo tiesioginės priešų artilerijos nenukentėjo. Kai kurie kazematai sugriauti besitraukiantiems tvirtovės gynėjams susprogdinus šaudmenų likučius. Tarpukariu šioje vietoje veikė Lietuvos kariuomenės ginklų dirbtuvės.
Jau dešimtmetį forte veikia dažasvydžio klubas "Legionas", formuojantis V forto įgulą. Teritorija natūraliai pritaikyta taktinėms karinėms užduotims, tad galima sakyti, kad V fortas vienintelis atlieka savo pirminę paskirtį. Susitarus su šeimininkais yra galimybė rasti vietą laužui, palapinei, yra minimalūs patogumai.

The fort is located next to the Kaunas lagoon, the Semena stream, although the fort participated in the defense of the Kaunas fortress, but was not damaged by direct enemy artillery: some casemates were destroyed when the retreating defenders of the fortress detonated remnants of ammunition. The legacy of the Soviet army - the technical division of the anti-aircraft defense regiment - is looming around: concrete slabs, concrete-paved roads, platforms, buildings of various purposes, a leveled part of ditches.
Due to the difficult terrain conditions, the construction and adaptation of this fort in the 19th century. pab., the assignment of an additional artillery battery and a complex drainage system resulted in this complex becoming the most expensive part of the Kaunas fortress. It cost more than 500 thousand. rubles. For comparison, you can imagine that about 3 million was spent on seven forts and nine artillery fortifications. rubles.
20th century Ave. the fort was partially modernized - the caponier and one ammunition warehouse were concreted. During the First World War, during the German attack, the fort was abandoned, although it was not damaged by direct enemy artillery. Some of the casemates were destroyed after the retreating defenders of the fortress detonated the remnants of ammunition. Between the wars, the weapons workshop of the Lithuanian army operated in this place.
For ten years, the paintball club "Legionas" has been operating in the fort, forming the crew of the V fort. The territory is naturally adapted to tactical military tasks, so it can be said that Fort V is the only one that fulfills its original purpose. Upon agreement with the hosts, it is possible to find a place for a bonfire.
