Geocache Description:

Whether coming from the north or the south, one must cross a river to reach The Pretty Side Of The River. Stevinson is on that side of which ever river one crossed, as it stands half way between each of the two. When flood irigation was the norm, canals, ditches and lateral lakes were kept full, most of the time. In that time, watering the grass was a common practice too. All of that provided perfect conditions for Mud Bugs to thrive. There were often so many that the birds that feasted on them were too gorged to fly. On cool early mornings it was not uncommon to find Mud Bugs crawling on lawns and up walls. In recent years they've been hard to find. Catch one, if you can. Daylight hours only. Thank You for being FTF goes out to The XCON Team. It's nice to see that some of our Big Valley Geocaching giants are still in the game. See note  posted below regarding NO ANIMALS ALLOWED IN PARK signs. Protest efforts for that unfair rule are welcome. This cache is in the place of archived: Hagaman https://coord.info/GC1NR2J with respect to terryandjanet.
